Print bills on a small Bluetooth printer, straight from your phone

Pair a 58 mm or 80 mm Bluetooth thermal printer once, and every bill prints the moment you save it. Your shop name, Tamil or Hindi item names and the ₹ sign all print correctly.

Works in your browser — nothing to install.

Pair in Settings

Switch on Print bills on a Bluetooth printer, tap Connect printer and pick it from the list.

58 mm or 80 mm

Choose your paper width once; 58 mm (also sold as 57 mm or 2 inch) is the default.

Prints when you save

Auto-print after saving a bill, or print any bill later from its page.

One or two copies

Two copies give one to the customer and one for the counter.

Large text

A bigger print size makes 58 mm bills easier to read.

Your last line

End every bill with your own line: a thank-you, your GPay number, or your timings.

What you need

  • A Bluetooth thermal receipt printer (58 or 80 mm). Small ones commonly sell for around ₹2,000.
  • Chrome on an Android phone, or Chrome / Edge on a laptop.
  • Books Pro, or the 30-day Pro trial every new shop gets.

What Books does not do (yet)

  • iPhone and Safari cannot connect to Bluetooth printers from a website. On iPhone, bills print through the normal print screen (AirPrint) instead.
  • The printer is paired per phone or laptop, not per shop: set it up on each device you bill from.
  • Books does not file GST returns or make e-invoices; GST bills themselves are part of Pro.

Questions shop owners ask

Which printer should I buy?

A 58 mm (2 inch) Bluetooth thermal receipt printer is right for most small shops; 80 mm (3 inch) suits busy counters. Books works with the common ESC/POS receipt printers sold in India.

Does it work on iPhone?

Not over Bluetooth: iPhone browsers cannot connect to Bluetooth printers. On an iPhone the Print button opens the normal print screen instead. Use Chrome on an Android phone or a laptop for Bluetooth printing.

Do I need to install a printer driver or app?

No. Books sends the bill to the printer directly from the browser. Pair the printer in Settings → Bill printer once on each phone or laptop.

Will Tamil and Hindi print properly?

Yes. Books prints the bill as a picture, so every language the app speaks prints exactly as it looks on screen, including the ₹ sign.

What if the printer is off or out of paper?

The bill is saved anyway and stays on screen, and Books tells you the printer did not answer. Switch it on and print again.

Is printing free?

Bluetooth printing is part of Books Pro. New shops get 30 days of Pro free, so you can try it with your printer first.
